Torre de los Velasco is a medieval fortress dating to the 14th-15th centuries, perched on a hilltop overlooking the Trueba River in Burgos province. Also known as Torre-Fuerte de La Riba, this Gothic structure comprises two rectangular bodies—a slender tower and secondary structures originally serving as stables. Built as the main stronghold of the Velasco family during the late Middle Ages, it exemplifies medieval defensive architecture with intricate period details. Designated as a Cultural Asset of Interest and protected since 1949, the tower remains a significant landmark of Castilian heritage, though it currently appears on the Red List of Historic Heritage in Danger.
