Torre de La Torrecilla rises on a hill south of Lorca, Murcia, as an 11th-century Arab watchtower built during Islamic rule of the region. Strategically positioned within a network of surveillance towers throughout the Guadalentín Valley, the tower functioned as part of an integrated visual communication system monitoring territorial control across medieval Al-Andalus. The structure's defensive purpose was integral to Islamic military infrastructure in southeastern Spain. The tower can be visited and ascended via iron stairs, offering visitors perspectives on both medieval Islamic defensive architecture and panoramic views across the Murcia landscape.
