Torre de la Petita is a 19th-century watchtower strategically positioned atop the Sierra de la Petita in Berga, Catalonia. Built in August 1838 during the Carlist Wars, the tower served as a crucial defense fortification to monitor enemy troop movements from the east. The structure gained prominence when Berga became the Carlist capital of Catalonia during the 1837-1840 conflict. Though demilitarized in 1868, it survived demolition attempts during the Third Carlist War thanks to local opposition, preserving it as practically the only Carlist fortress still standing in Catalonia today. The tower remains an important historical landmark documenting a turbulent chapter in Catalan history.
