Torre Atalaya de La Solana is a circular watchpower from the Nasrid period, likely built in the 14th century, standing near Moclín in Granada province. Built with limestone rubblework and stone reinforcements, the tower rises approximately seven meters with a diameter exceeding five meters, featuring a slight bulge at its center. Located three kilometers from Moclín along the Puerto Lope road, the tower formed part of an extensive defensive network supporting the Castle of Moclín and fortress chain including Montefrío, Íllora, Colomera, Iznalloz, Píñar, Huétor Tájar and Loja. Positioned in an intermediate zone surveilling gorges, the tower demonstrates the sophisticated medieval communication and surveillance system protecting Granada's frontier against Christian advances.
