Torraza de Escuer stands as a 14th-century fortification perched in the municipality of Biescas, Huesca, crowning Escuer Alto in the Pyrenees foothills. Documented records trace the settlement to 1184, revealing its medieval defensive significance alongside companion towers at Biescas and Lárrede, collectively guarding the strategic Gállego river valley. Remarkably well-preserved despite its elevated, nearly impregnable location, the tower remained accessible even after Escuer Alto's depopulation in the 1950s. A moderate hiking trail (PR-HU 196) provides visitor access through scenic mountain terrain surrounding this important example of late medieval Aragonese fortification.
