Tattershall Castle is a 15th-century red brick tower near Coningsby in Lincolnshire, managed by the National Trust. Built in the 1430s–1440s under Ralph Lord Cromwell, the striking 110-foot tower is one of England's earliest and finest examples of medieval brickwork. Rising dramatically from the flat Fenland landscape, it features Gothic fireplaces and church-like windows accessible via a spiral staircase to the top. A Civil War siege left only the great tower standing until its 1911 restoration by Lord Curzon. From the summit, visitors enjoy panoramic views across the fens, with Lincoln Cathedral visible on clear days.
