Stradey Castle

Stradey Castle is a Grade II* listed Victorian mansion in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, built between 1850-1855 after demolition of an earlier house, designed by architect Edward Haycock in an ornate style befitting the era. The estate features a wing added in 1873-1874 by Buckler of Oxford and includes formal terraced gardens overlooking parkland with water features, woodland walks, and a walled kitchen garden. As a private estate with limited public access, Stradey Castle is open occasionally for guided tours led by the current owners, Claire and Patrick Mansel Lewis, who are actively restoring this Victorian mansion and offering tours to help fund the preservation of this significant Welsh heritage property.
