Stigsnæs Kystbatteri is a historic coastal battery established in 1808 by order of King Frederik VI during the Napoleonic Wars to defend Denmark against British naval threats. Originally constructed to protect the coast and the Great Belt strait, the battery served as a cannon fortification throughout the England Wars (1807–1814). Located in Ørnehoved Forest near Skælskør, the site features preserved gun emplacements and bunker remnants, complemented by period-style reconstructions including a crew room and powder house. The association managing the site hosts shooting demonstrations with authentic 1800s black powder cannons, guided tours, and educational programs celebrating Danish maritime defense history.
