Rumbeke Castle is one of Belgium's oldest Renaissance castles, dating to the 16th century, with historical roots extending to the 9th century and Count Baldwin Iron Arm of Flanders. Located on the south side of Roeselare in West Flanders, the castle stands within the distinctive Sterrebos (Star Forest), a park featuring centuries-old trees arranged in star-shaped patterns inspired by Vienna's Prater park. Though the castle was damaged during various historical conflicts including the French Revolution and world wars, it was renovated with neoclassical elements in the 18th century. Currently rented as offices by a private company, the castle grounds remain accessible to visitors during daytime hours.
