Ruinas Torre del Calvario Viejo stands as remnants of a medieval watchtower in Priego de Córdoba, now in advanced deterioration with only its base visible at approximately 1.5 meters height. Part of a network of more than 15 watchtowers constructed between 1332-1341 by the Nasrid dynasty, this tower represents the sophisticated defensive systems that protected medieval Andalusian settlements. Recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site in the Monument category, the tower's decay reflects the challenging conditions facing many medieval structures despite ongoing regional heritage conservation initiatives aimed at preservation and restoration.
