Poulnalong Castle, also known as Shippool Castle, is a 16th-century tower house built in 1543 by Philip Roche on the east bank of the River Bandon in County Cork. The castle played a significant role during the Irish Rebellion of 1641, when it was held for the rebels by Patrick Roche Fitzrichard and saw action during the subsequent Confederate Wars.
