Torre de Placia, known as Placid Tower, is a sixteenth-century defensive tower in Alicante's countryside. Like other towers in the region, it was constructed during a period when pirate raids threatened the prosperous agricultural lands. This stone fortification represents the practical defensive architecture of the Spanish Renaissance, built to provide refuge and protection to landowners and their families while guarding the region's valuable farmland.
