Palau Requesens is a monumental medieval palace built between the 13th and 15th centuries within Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, constructed against the city's Roman walls. As the largest residential building in medieval Barcelona and once seat of one of Catalonia's most powerful noble families, the palace embodies the region's architectural and political prominence. Despite 20th-century alterations, the palace has been restored and today hosts medieval-themed cultural events including guided tours, historical dinners, and period entertainment. Since 1917, portions of the palace also serve as home to the Royal Academy of Arts.
