Palacio de los Zúñiga in Curiel de Duero is a fortified palace built by Diego López de Zúñiga, Justice Major of Castile under King Juan I, and completed in 1410. The rectangular noble residence features four corner towers and measures approximately 140 feet in length, originally serving as the 'Palacio de Justicia Mayor' where justice was administered for the Community of Curiel until 1812. Decorated with rich plasterwork and polychrome coffered ceilings, the palace represented aristocratic power and administrative authority in medieval Valladolid. Although the interior is currently destroyed following early 20th-century neglect and abandonment, the palace remains in municipal ownership. This heritage structure stands as a testament to the prominence of the Zúñiga family in Castilian nobility and medieval administrative governance.
