The Old Town of Visoki is a medieval royal castle built in the 14th century atop Visočica hill in Visoko, Bosnia. This elevated fortress served both defensive and administrative functions, with rulers writing important royal documents and charters within its walls. First documented in 1355 under Tvrtko I of Bosnia, the settlement functioned as a center of medieval Bosnian nobility until its abandonment before 1503. The small town, measuring 60 by 25 meters, contains remains of early medieval houses and offers excellent views of the plains below. Designated a national monument, Visoki represents an important chapter in medieval Bosnian history and architectural heritage.
