Montaigle Castle

Montaigle Castle is a medieval fortress perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop where the Molignée and Flavion rivers meet in Falaën, Wallonia. With roots stretching back approximately 1,000 years—including Gallo-Roman traces and a fortification erected around 900 AD—the castle showcases 100 square meters of exhibition space displaying archaeological artifacts including cannonballs, tools, medals, coins, and jewelry. The scenic grounds invite picnicking among ruins spanning multiple medieval periods. The organization welcomes guests from late February through October, runs educational programs for schools, and hosts seasonal activities from Easter through Halloween, offering visitors "charm and soul" with numerous corners to explore.
