Masafi Fort is one of the best-preserved forts in the United Arab Emirates, built in the 19th century to protect the Masafi oasis and guard the strategic trade routes connecting the eastern and western sides of the Al Hajar Mountains. The fortress showcases remarkable architecture with various rooms and towers, each offering a glimpse into the life of its former inhabitants, and features preserved ancient underground water systems demonstrating historical engineering expertise. Located in the scenic Al Hajar Mountains range of Ras Al Khaimah, the fort offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lush landscapes. Entry is free and facilities include washrooms, with a guestbook maintained at the entrance by a security guard.
