Le Château d'Ouhar

Le Château d'Ouhar in Anthisnes, province of Liège, dates from the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries with traces extending to the 12th century, when it was first cited as a strong tower in a relief deed. The Renaissance-style castle features a massive main building flanked by a narrow tower with a distinctive bulbous spire, constructed in brick and hewn stone. Now a private residence with visits available only by appointment, the castle remains visible from the road and gained cultural prominence as the setting featured in the first comic book by renowned Anthisnes-born illustrator Arthur Piroton.
