Kula Hrnjica Muje

Kula Hrnjica Muje, also known as the Hrnjica Tower, is a historic fortress tower in Velika Kladuša, northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The tower's tradition links it to Mujo Hrnjica, a celebrated figure in Bosnian epic poetry and culture, whose family is documented in medieval records from 1641. The Hrnjica brothers—Mujo, Halil, and Omer—are revered as heroes in Bosnian folklore, with their stories central to the "Krajišnik" cycle of epic verses that document raids and battles during the Ottoman period. The tower represents one of the region's most significant defensive structures, both for its strategic location and distinctive construction method. Today, it stands as a cultural monument embodying the warrior traditions and literary heritage of medieval Bosnia.
