Kasteel Ter Beken

Kasteel Ter Beken is a classical-baroque castle built in 1748 in Drongen, East Flanders, featuring rococo elements and mansard roofing. The U-shaped structure displays thirteen bays with a triangular pediment and sculptural figures, while hexagonal annexes frame a chapel overlooking gardens designed by Louis Fuchs. The 52-hectare domain includes landscape-style parkland, moated farmyard structures, and eighteenth-century outbuildings. Now serving as Sint-Paulusseminarie (St. Paul's Seminary) since 1955 and protected as a monument, the castle showcases interior highlights including an Empire-style salon with Japanese-influenced wallpaper and rococo fireplaces.
