Kasteel Kruikenburg

Kasteel Kruikenburg is a well-preserved medieval water castle in Ternat, Flemish Brabant, Belgium, dating from the 12th century. Originally constructed as a defensive watchtower, it evolved into a moated residential castle in the 14th century under Everard t'Serclaes. The castle underwent significant renovations in the 16th and 18th centuries, adopting classicist architectural styles. Its distinctive features include three wings forming a U-shape with round corner towers and a square entrance tower. Since 1939, the castle has been owned by the Brothers of the Christian Schools for educational purposes. The castle is set within a 2-hectare landscape park established between 1820 and 1830, accessible via a 400-meter double avenue from the village center.
