Kasteel de Merode

Kasteel de Merode is a Louis XVI classicist mansion located in Everberg, Kortenberg, whose heritage dates to the 14th century. Transformed during the 18th century by architect Neuville with Ionic columns, triangular pediment, and mansard windows, it exemplifies refined period architecture. The estate features two symmetrical side pavilions and is surrounded by an English-style park established in 1848–1849, with notable mature trees including a black walnut with a 5-meter trunk circumference and a linden tree-lined avenue connecting to the local church. As a private residence not open to regular tours, inquiries can be directed to the municipal Culture Department.
