Jarandilla Castle, known as Castillo de los Condes de Oropesa, is a 15th-century fortress in Jarandilla de la Vera, Cáceres, constructed for the Counts of Oropesa. The castle retains its ditch, towered walls, and an exceptional two-storied Gothic gallery in its interior courtyard. Historically significant as the residence of King Carlos V from 1556 to 1557 during his retirement before entering the Monasterio de Yuste, the castle now operates as a luxury hotel, the Parador de Jarandilla de la Vera, allowing visitors to experience nobility and royal heritage within its medieval walls.
