Schloss Hof is Austria's largest country castle complex, a magnificent Baroque palace nestled in the Marchfeld region of Lower Austria near the Morava River and Slovak border, approximately one hour east of Vienna. Originally owned by Prince Eugene of Savoy, who purchased it in 1726, the estate was enlarged by architect Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt in 1729 as an elaborate hunting lodge. Empress Maria Theresa acquired the property in 1755 and presented it to her spouse as a gift. The estate features a stunning Baroque garden divided into seven terraces with fountains, statues, sphinxes, an artificial cave, and dramatic water cascade. Today it operates as a living historical venue combining imperial heritage, restored gardens, and an active estate farm.
