Gobiendes Palace

Gobiendes Palace represents a remarkable example of Asturian noble architecture, located in the municipality of Colunga and evolved over four centuries into its present elegant form. The building incorporates a medieval tower from the 14th century around which subsequent structures were constructed, with two perpendicular wings arranged around an interior courtyard and a side chapel featuring a half-barrel vault. Originally belonging to the Mitra Ovetense ecclesiastical estate until Philip II's reign, when it was sold to Gonzalo Ruiz de Junco, the palace displays coats of arms of prominent lineages across its main facade, reflecting its significance in regional nobility. Completed in its current configuration during the 17th century and restored in 1968, the palace was designated a Historic-Artistic Monument and stands as a testament to the evolution of Asturian palatial design and aristocratic heritage.
