Gestelhof Castle

Gestelhof Castle stands on a 48-acre estate along the River Nete, a double-moated water castle flanked by two canals with a wooden drawbridge and landscape park. Originally built in the 16th century with Neo-Flemish Renaissance and Neo-Baroque styles, it was reconstructed after a fire in 1796 and expanded in the 20th century. The five-level structure features ornate interiors including a library, wine cellar, and billiards room, with exterior buildings comprising a gatehouse, miniature castle, former bakery, and horse training facility. Now protected as an official Belgian monument, it operates as a bed-and-breakfast.
