Fortí del Bonet

Fortí del Bonet comprises a significant defensive structure built in the early eighteenth century as part of Tortosa's broader fortification system. Located at El Rastre, this bastion-style fort features a single main structure surrounded by a narrow moat, with the exterior bastion preserving original loopholes and gun ports for cannons at ground level. The fortress connects to a wider network of seventeenth and eighteenth-century city fortifications and stands as a protected Cultural Heritage Site of National Interest. Recent municipal restoration efforts have rehabilitated the fort, which had remained unused for over a century, returning it to Tortosa's patrimonial and touristic heritage circuit.
