Fortaleza dos Reis Magos is a star-shaped 16th-century fortress located at the entrance of the Potengi River in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, marking the city's founding point. Construction began on January 6, 1598 (Three Wise Men's Day), under the direction of Priest Gaspar de Samperes, and the fortress was officially established on December 25, 1599. The strategic star-shaped design blends military architecture with colonial styling and provided a commanding view of the coastline to defend against pirate invasions and unauthorized entry.
