Fort Baker

Fort Baker is a 335-acre historic military post nestled beneath the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito, California, surrounded by the Marin Headlands on scenic Horseshoe Bay. Established in 1850 as the Lime Point Military Reservation to support coastal defense of the Golden Gate, the former Army post now functions as a national park site with diverse recreational opportunities. The fort features the Bay Area Discovery Museum, fishing and crabbing from a wooden pier, grassy lawns, a sandy beach, and the luxury Cavallo Point Lodge housed in restored officers' residences.
