Fenton Tower

Fenton Tower is a magnificently restored 16th-century fortified tower located 18 miles east of Edinburgh near North Berwick in East Lothian, dated 1587 though possibly built upon earlier 11th-century stronghold foundations. King James VI sought refuge here while fleeing rebel forces, and the tower endured sacking by Oliver Cromwell before falling into decay. Meticulously restored and opened in 2002, it now provides five-star accommodation for up to 13 guests, combining state-of-the-art modern facilities with intimate private home comfort and dedicated in-house staff.
