Duntreath Castle

Duntreath Castle, nestled in Strathblane near Glasgow, has been the seat of the Edmonstone family for over 600 years. The castle features a tall rectangular tower dating to the latter half of the 15th century, standing 47 feet by 26 feet across. Originally a more complex structure with a quadrangular set of buildings enclosing a courtyard, only the tower and fragments of a Victorian addition remain, the latter largely demolished in 1958. The castle overlooks an ornamental lake, sweeping lawns and romantically floodlit gardens, creating an elegant backdrop. Today it serves as a premier wedding venue and offers guided tours of the castle and grounds, along with educational activities, allowing visitors to explore centuries of Scottish aristocratic heritage.
