Dun Ringill

Dun Ringill is an ancient Iron Age hill fort on the Strathaird peninsula of the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Dating to approximately the first century CE, this broch was further fortified during the Middle Ages and served for centuries as the seat of Clan MacKinnon before the clan relocated in the 16th century. The ruins today stand approximately 4 meters high with 16-meter sides, surrounded by an outer ditch and overlooking Loch Slapin. A notable feature is the nearly intact passageway entrance, which visitors can navigate to access the summit offering panoramic sea views. Stone and earth ramps on either side historically provided access to the water for shipping and trade.
