Domein Reckheim encompasses the Aspremont-Lynden Castle, an early 17th-century fortress built in Mosan style by the noble d'Aspremont Lynden family, Counts of Reckheim. Located in Oud-Rekem, the castle was meticulously restored to its 1857 appearance following purchase by Domein Reckheim in 1993. Previously serving as a prison and psychiatric hospital during the 19th and 20th centuries, the castle was transformed through a thorough restoration process. Currently repurposed as a residential and cultural destination, the estate retains its historic significance within an authentic park-like setting in Lanaken's Limburg location.
