Dinefwr Castle

Dinefwr Castle perches majestically above the River Tywi in Carmarthenshire, Wales, commanding panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Founded in the 12th century as the primary stronghold of Lord Rhys of Deheubarth, the castle played a pivotal role in Welsh medieval history and witnessed key moments including the 15th-century uprising of Owain Glyndŵr. The site retains substantial remains including a circular keep, residential blocks, corner towers, and curtain walls.
