Château de la Chapoulie, known locally as 'the towers of Chapoulie,' stands in the medieval town of Peyrignac in Dordogne, 14 km north of Montignac-Lascaux. Built in the 15th century by the English following their control of the region, this fortified residence features distinctive circular and slender towers adjoined to the main dwelling. Originally protected by a moat and drawbridge, the château was demilitarized around 1610 when the fortifications were removed and housing units were created. The estate served as the residence of the noble d'Artensec de Verneuil and later the Sédières families through marriage. Today, it remains a private property closed to the public.
