Built in the late 15th century by François II and his daughter Anne of Brittany, the Château des ducs de Bretagne stands as a monumental fortified castle in Nantes. The fortress features a 500-meter parapet punctuated by seven towers, with an elegant Renaissance ducal residence of tufa stone on the courtyard side. Today it houses the Museum of the History of Nantes, welcoming over 270,000 visitors annually. The castle offers guided tours, temporary exhibitions, family activities, and panoramic views of the medieval quarter from its ramparts.
