Château de Villeneuve-Lembron, located in Puy-de-Dôme between Clermont-Ferrand and Saint-Flour, was built at the end of the 15th century for Rigaud d'Aureille, bailli of Auvergne and influential diplomatic figure. The structure features three residential buildings flanked by four cylindrical towers surrounding a central courtyard. Remarkably preserved are extensive murals from the early 16th century depicting mythological representations and satirical scenes, while the château houses a notable collection of Aubusson tapestries illustrating tales of Alexander the Great and Godfrey of Bouillon. Managed by the Centre des monuments nationaux, it remains celebrated for its outstanding painted decorations and rich artistic heritage.
