Château de Saige

Château de Saige is an 18th-century neoclassical estate built by François-Armand de Saige, a former attorney general to the Parliament of Bordeaux. Designed according to plans by renowned architect Victor Louis, the unfinished château features a rectangular plan with a hemicycle terrace and facades adorned with Tuscan columns. Registered as a historical monument in 1983, it sits within a 14-hectare park overlooking the Garonne marshlands in Cadaujac. The estate, now owned by the municipality since 1979, carries significant historical weight, having been requisitioned by German forces during World War II. Its architectural elegance and setting in an expansive park make it an important heritage site in the Gironde region.
