Château de Morlanne is a powerful 14th-century brick fortress erected in 1373 by Gaston III of Foix-Béarn (Gaston Fébus) at the border between Landes and Béarn in Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Designed by Languedocian architect Sicard de Lordat, the heptagonal structure features unequal angles, pebble arrangements in decorative patterns, a high keep, moats, and interior manor house from the 16th century. The castle dominates a rolling landscape from a stone promontory and houses an extensive art collection bequeathed by its last private owners, the Ritters, who restored it in the 1970s. Now protected as a historic monument under departmental management, it welcomes visitors with guided audio tours, family activities, group visits, and seasonal concerts throughout the year.
