Château de Marzac rises majestically in Tursac, Dordogne, positioned on a height approximately 60 meters above the Vézère river in Périgord Noir, 22 km northwest of Sarlat. This Renaissance structure evolved through the 15th to 17th centuries, its name deriving from the Marzac family who occupied the site beginning with Guichard de Marzac documented in 1294. Architectural hallmarks include four round towers at the angles of its rectangular main building and a reinforcing square tower containing a staircase on the southwest façade. Once controlling navigation along the Vézère alongside Petit-Marzac, the castle is now privately owned and features an escape room experience within its historic walls.
