Château de Lavauguyon is a medieval fortress in Maisonnais-sur-Tardoire, Haute-Vienne, dating from the 12th and 15th centuries. This imposing ruin features a rectangular keep and substantial curtain walls flanked by four corner towers, all surrounded by remarkably well-preserved moats. The castle witnessed fierce medieval conflicts between English and French forces, being dismantled during the French Revolution. Today, the Association of Friends of the Château de Lavauguyon maintains the site, offering public workshops in masonry and volunteer restoration workcamps to preserve this important Limousin heritage.
