Château de la Trapperie is a private historic estate located in Habay-la-Vieille, Belgium, situated along the scenic Rulles river valley. The domain has significant industrial heritage dating to 1613, when Herman Trappé established a factory on the site to harness the fast-flowing Rulles river for hydraulic power and access nearby forests for charcoal production. The Trapperie was part of a regional network of industrial facilities that flourished for over two centuries. During the 19th century, the property was converted into an agricultural school and nail manufacturing facility. Today, the estate remains a private domain preserving important chapters of Belgian industrial and economic history.
