Château de La Chapelle-Faucher is a historic fortress in La Chapelle-Faucher, Dordogne, dramatically positioned on a cliff approximately 30 meters above the Côle river, which it has monitored for nearly eight centuries. Originally constructed in the early 13th century by Fulchier d'Agonac, the château was devastated during the Hundred Years' War and extensively rebuilt in the late 15th century, with further modifications during the 17th and 18th centuries. Though damaged by lightning in 1916, the castle remains an important heritage monument, with portions classified and inscribed since 2001 as a protected historic site in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
