Château de Fleurac

Château de Fleurac is a Renaissance castle in Nersac, Charente, built on 13th-century foundations overlooking the Charente River. Reconstructed following 16th-century religious wars that severely damaged the original structure, the château acquired its refined Henri IV style during the 17th century with a main building and two elegant pavilions. The interior features Louis XV furnishings, Renaissance staircases, vaulted rooms with Tuscan columns, and frescoes, while exterior terraces adorned with balustrades exemplify Renaissance aesthetics. The site, surrounded by historic moats, has been restored by current owners Michel-Alexandre and Bénédicte Mahy and welcomes visitors.
