Château de Dongelberg

Château de Dongelberg overlooks the town of Jodoigne in Wallonia, Belgium, built around 1865 on the site of medieval fortifications whose feudal tower remains attached to the new structure. The château was commissioned by Baron Jean-Marie Osy de Zegwaart and designed by the architect Parent from Lille, representing a significant 19th-century architectural statement. Occupying an ancient administrative center of the Duchy of Brabant, the castle carries centuries of history, having been connected to the influential Dongelberg family and serving as a lord's seat. Though the building suffered extensive fire damage in February 2020 after decades of abandonment, efforts continue to preserve and repurpose the imposing structure, with plans to transform the estate into a cultural and business center.
