Château d'Arcangues is a historic castle in the Basque region of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, originally built in 1150 by the lord of Arcangues and continuously occupied by descendants of the founding family. The current structure was reconstructed in 1900 following the original 17th-century design, after the first château was burned by Spanish forces in 1636 during the Thirty Years' War. The château features spectacular interior architecture showcasing large Gobelins and Aubusson tapestries, Louis XV and XVI furniture, and notable rooms including the Duke of Wellington's bedroom. Since opening to the public in 2009, it has been available for weddings, corporate seminars, private receptions, concerts, and film shoots, offering visitors its salons, French-style gardens, terraces, and outdoor structures within a preserved historic setting.
