Castle of La Palma in Mugardos, Galicia, is a 16th-century fortification built in 1597 to defend the strategic Ferrol estuary. Featuring an irregular polygonal layout designed to eliminate defensive blind spots, the castle formed part of a defensive triangle known as the Triangle of Fire alongside nearby fortifications. Designated a Good of Cultural Interest in 1994, the fortress includes notable features such as a chapel, interior courtyard, rail system, and historically served as a military prison. Guided tours showcase the castle's roofs, courtyard, and other architectural features, with seasonal visitor access available during summer months to experience this important example of Galician maritime defensive architecture.
