Castle of Almansa

Castle of Almansa, perched atop Cerro de Águila in Albacete province, stands as the best-preserved fortress in the region and dominates the town's skyline with its striking medieval silhouette. Originally established in the 12th century by the Muslim Almohad dynasty, the castle was captured and expanded by Christian forces in the 13th century, with significant 14th-century construction led by Juan Manuel, author of El Conde Lucanor.
