Castle Lacypierre

Château de Lacypierre is a 13th-century feudal castle in Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet, Périgord Noir, Dordogne, representing one of the smallest and most intimate historic castles in the region. Originally belonging to the Ferrières family of knights, it later became the property of the Benié de Lacypierre family of royal magistrates in the 15th century. The château deteriorated significantly by the 19th century before being rescued from ruin by the Lebon family in 1968, who undertook meticulous restoration returning it to its character as a family residence. Today, the castle features sensitively restored interiors housing remarkable period furniture and earthenware collections. The current proprietors, Isabelle and Florence Lebon-Hénault, provide intimate guided tours tracing the castle's evolution and the histories of its noble families, offering visitors an exceptionally personal experience of Périgourdin heritage.
