Castillo Sierro

Castillo de Sierro crowns a strategic hilltop in the Almanzora Valley of Almería province, representing medieval fortress architecture of Islamic Berber origin from the 9th to 13th centuries. Built to defend the surrounding cultivated valley irrigated by the Boloynta river, this mountain citadel served dual purposes as both shelter and urban defense center.
